I first laid eyes on this bike at James's bike breakers, I mentioned that if it was ever for sale to call me. Two years later, Fai from Max Centre' called me regarding the sale. The poor girl had been left to the elements, with faded plastic and petrol jelly in the carb and inlet. Fai had done an excellent job of fitting the CR bodywork, so a lot of the work had been done. The groundwork had been laid for what is essentially 'the bike of my life!'
The aluminium subframe originally from an Rgv had been modified to CR250 spec to suit the bodywork most of the work carried out at Fai's home. James recalls 'Fai had jammed the wires in the main board, when he was doing the welding even the street lamps were flickering', living in the sticks as they do.
A complete overhaul gave this bike a new lease of life, and has been my run-around for the last four years! Honda reliability and build quality accounts for a lot as this bike has been thrashed and crashed constantly, raced by Fai himself in a local enduro race, not to mention the movie work and two up? action at the local motocross track.
It's all fun and games on Honda's CRM, I reckon everyone should try one in their life time
